First picture: Sunset by the lake

The first painting is about sunset by the lake and has a really soft look. In order to achieve that, we will break the paint with lots of white paint during the process. The tip to blend acrylic paint is to create a wet surface with white paint.

Step 1: Apply a coat of white acrylic paint to the top part of the paper

Step 2: Blending yellow, pink and blue paints for easy acrylic paintings for beginners

Mix a little bit of brown with yellow and white to create a less vibrant shade. Now go ahead and distribute the yellow paint on top of the white layer we just created from one side to another, back and forth while moving downwards and upwards from time to time.

Mix a little bit of red with white paint for pastel pink. Apply the paint right below the yellow layer the same way.

Just the same way, we continue to apply the blue right below the pink area. Remember to move the brush from one side to another. You keep doing that till the paint is still wet.

Step 3: Draw mountains and reflection on the water

It’s time to create the horizon between the sky and the water. For this step, you use a dark shade of blue-colored paint and draw a few hills right below the lighter shade of blue. Below the hills, you draw the same shapes right below just mirrored. Remember leaving out a little bit of space in between. The result is the water reflection far way.

TIPS: Work quickly because acrylic paint dries rather fast. A recommendation for you is to use a flat brush as it is easier for you to distribute the paint more evenly. You can mix in a little bit more white paint on top to make the yellow even softer and pastel looking.

You can even use more white paint on top and blend it into the colors below. If your paint is too dry, you can use a little bit of water to make a little bit easier to blend.

Second picture: Sunset by the sea – most easy acrylic paintings for beginners

You don’t need to make the layer of white paint first. For the second painting, we will create a sunset by the sea.

Step 1 Begin by applying some orange colored paint to the lower half of the paper.

Here you mixed yellow, red and white acrylic paint to soften the color. Next, use a little bit of red and blend it right below the orange color. Again, move the brush from one side to another while going upwards and downwards.

Step 2: the third and fourth colors, you use brown and blue colored paint and mix them together the same way. Since now you laid down the first layer of paint, you can use that to blend, even more, paint on top to make it easier for you. This serves as the white layer of paint that we used in the easy acrylic paintings for beginners.

For the rest of the painting, repeat the steps of applying yellow and blue paint to the paper.
